Herman's 85th Birthday Party

 Saturday, September 4, 2021

Herman's daughters really know how to throw a party!  The residents were invited for the 3:00 p.m. party in the piazza.  Unfortunately, the weather didn't look too promising.  Herman's daughter Ann owns a catering business.  She, her sisters and friends were busy earlier in the day decorating with balloons and plants.  At 3:00 p.m. they starting passing food to the tables, since we were not allowed to serve ourselves because of COVID.  We were first served appetizers of summer sausage-cheese kabobs, Thai grilled chicken kabobs mixed nuts and beverages.  For the main course we were served hamburgers or brats with potato salad, cowboy beans, and fruit kabobs.  Dessert was Sima's cheese cake or carrot cake.  What a treat.

We had light sprinkles on and off, but they hardly made the pavement wet; however, my rain bonnet came in handy.  People stayed and visited long after the party ended.  But Ann and her crew had a major clean-up.
